Meet Andy Metts
Andy Metts joined the staff at Chapin Town Hall in October 2014 as the Utilities Director. He previously worked for Richland County for 28 years, starting as a sanitary engineer and working his way up to director of the utilities department.
A Chapin native, Metts graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in mechanical engineering. He holds numerous certifications, including Water Treatment Operator, Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection, Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Operation, General Contractor and Construction Manager. He is active in the American Public Works Association, the Water Quality Association of South Carolina, and the Rural Water Association of South Carolina. He is also a member of the Central Midlands Environmental Planning Advisory Committee.
Metts attended Chapin High School, where he played football and served as student body president in 1977. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and is a classic car enthusiast.
