Chapin Town Hall

Mayor's Message

We ended a productive week at Town Hall with our annual Community Prayer Breakfast. The event featured moving performances by the Chapin High School NJROTC and the Chapin High School Chamber Singers, followed by powerful scripture readings from several church leaders within our community. The keynote speaker Wayne Atcheson is the Library Historian for Billy Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Mr. Atcheson is the author of several books and has led a fascinating life of devotion. He delighted the crowd with stories from working alongside Coach Bobby Bowden and Coach Paul Bryant as well as personal stories of time with the Billy Graham family. Most importantly he delivered an impactful message on cultivating Community Unity.

I can’t thank our generous sponsors, local churches and town employees enough for making this event possible. It is encouraging to see so many members of our community gathered in one place for such a powerful event.

Community Day of Service

During the event I challenged those in attendance and, today, I extend the challenge to all of us in the Chapin community to reflect over what it means to cultivate a community of unity. For this year’s Community Service Day event, held on April 14, we welcome the entire community to participate in a community service project of your choice. It can be as simple as visiting with an elderly neighbor, picking up trash at your local park or collecting toiletry items for a charity such as the Good Samaritan Clinic. There are a thousand ways to give back that will help bring this community closer. All those participating in Community Service Day are urged to come by Town Hall on Saturday, April 14, for a drop in lunch from 11:30 am- 1:00 pm served by members of the American Legion.

Best Regards,

Mayor David Knight
