[ARCHIVED] Chapin Police make arrest in Infant Death

Elizabeth Ashleigh Thompson

Chapin Police announced today that they have made an arrest in the infant death case that took place on August 3, 2016, in a Chapin home located in the Firebridge subdivision.

The mother of the infant, Elizabeth Ashleigh Thompson, age 36, was arrested on Tuesday, October 25, for one count of unlawful conduct toward a child. She is currently pending bond at the Lexington County Detention Center.

The charges stem from an incident at 341 Firebridge Drive in Chapin and results of toxicology tests that show the infant had been exposed to Methamphetamine in utero.

Further questions related to this matter can be directed to Chapin Chief of Police Seth Zeigler at 575-8500.
