[ARCHIVED] Chapin announces openings for Architectural Review Board and Zoning Board of Appeals

The Town of Chapin is accepting applications for vacancies on two of its council-appointed boards. Citizens interested in serving should complete and submit an application for consideration and approval by Chapin Town Council.

The Architectural Review Board is looking to fill a vacancy created when Doug Clary stepped down this spring. Clary had served since the board’s inception. The Architectural Review Board reviews, approves or denies non-residential building and site plans, based on conformance with the requirements provided in the town’s zoning ordinance. Members serve at the pleasure of the council for staggered three-year terms.

Dennis Lamkin has decided not to seek a re-appointment to the Zoning Board of Appeals, a post he’s held since the 1990s. The Zoning Board of Appeals reviews appeals to the Zoning Administrator’s ruling on zoning conformance as well as any variances or special exemptions where application of the zoning law would result in an unnecessary hardship based on a number of specified criteria.

For more information, please contact Zoning Administrator Chris Clauson at 575-8045.
