.
Starting on January 26, 2024
The Town of Chapin Utilities advises the water customers within The Oaks, Milmont Shores, Dowds MHP and Long Pine Station subdivisions within the Amicks Ferry Water System, located in Lexington County, to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or for cooking use.
Two water main breaks occurred. One on Caro Lane and the second on Amicks Ferry Rd. on January 26, 2024. Due to the loss of water pressure, water customers should continue to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking until otherwise notified by the Town of Chapin Utilities Department. Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
Call the Town of Chapin Utilities Department, 803-345-0416, for any other questions concerning this Advisory.
