Chapin Town Hall

Mayor's Message

Greetings,

As we enter into the holiday season I wanted thank all of our staff and the community for a wonderful year. I visited several businesses this week and had the pleasure of shaking hands with business owners, managers and workers. At ribbon cuttings I am often quoted saying that without our small businesses there wouldn't be a Chapin and I truly mean that. We are grateful for your investment in our community and all the sacrifices you make to keep Chapin a great place to live and work.

Many of you may have heard that Saturday is Small Business Saturday which is a great opportunity to shop local. We have so many great restaurants, boutiques, spas and galleries. I ask all our residents and community members to visit a store or two in Chapin this Saturday. You will find one of a kind gifts and something for everyone on your list, right here in our very own community.

Provided below is additional information about some very exciting events and activities we have happening right here in Chapin.

Best regards & a happy Thanksgiving to you and yours,

Mayor David Knight

Town of Chapin to Host Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

The Town of Chapin will hold its annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at 4 p.m. Sunday, December 8, beginning with a reception in the Community Room at Chapin Town Hall (157 NW Columbia Avenue, Chapin, SC 29036).

There will be holiday music, hot chocolate and cookies, crafts provided by Chapin businesses and a reading of a holiday classic by Mayor Knight. Everyone will gather outside to enjoy the lighting of the town’s official Christmas tree at approximately 5:15 pm. Community members will have the opportunity to take pictures with Santa Claus during the event.

The event is free to attend but we ask guests to bring canned goods for Chapin’s We Care Center.

Have you ever wanted to star in a National Commercial?

The Town of Chapin has your opportunity.

Boland's Ace Hardware located in Chapin, SC has been selected for a national heartware campaign due to their efforts with their annual Toy Drive for the Boys Farm. On December 14 hundreds of motorcycles and classic cars will meet at Bolands and escort the toys through Chapin and into Newberry.

This is a great opportunity for our community to come together and showcase not only our businesses and streets but our love and support for those in need. Film crews will spend two days taping our town and the Toy Parade.

We ask for all community residents to line the streets on Saturday, December 14 from 1:30-2:30 for a one of a kind Toy Parade. The event will feature Mr. and Mrs. Claus, hundreds of motorcycles and four different car clubs. Candy will be distributed as they ride through Town. We ask for spectators to line up starting at the Sonic and line Chapin Road to the Hardees. We want to see our entire community as a show of support for these men and women.
