Chapin Town Hall

Mayor's Message

Greetings,

The past week has been filled with excitement as we eagerly prepare for the Town's largest annual event. It is an honor to present our citizens with the 40th Annual Chapin Labor Day Festival and Parade. The theme for this year's event is Sail Into Chapin. We invite you to Sail into Chapin and discover what we all love about this beautiful community.

The 40th Annual Parade promises to be an exciting one for the entire community. Led by our Grand Marshall Sonny Shealy riding with Cheif Zeigler the line up promises to be one that won't disappoint. Sonny Shealy is no stranger to our community. As a community local legend he has been described as the Eagles biggest fan. He holds a special place in our hearts. We are grateful for his participation and honored to have him as our 2019 Grand Marshall.

This event is free to our residents and the surrounding community thanks to the generous support of our sponsors. The longtime and continued support of Lexington Medical Center and Lexington County has made the event possible for several years. This year's event includes an exciting addition, with the support of Food Lion, we provided a tented eating area for the convenience and enjoyment of our attendees. We have several food vendors offering a variety of choices. In addition, we are adding several cool down stations thanks to the contributions of Squeegee Clean.

While you are here we encourage you to visit the 11th Annual Classic Car Cruise which takes place from 8:45-1:00 pm in the Mt. Horeb parking lot off Beaufort Street. This event wouldn't be possible without Palmetto Enclosures and Taylor's Automotive Service. A special thank you to our stage sponsors Chapin Liquor and Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative, as well as our other festival sponsors: Zesto's of Chapin, Nationwide, Vive Church, Charles Schwab and McDonalds.

I want to also acknowledge the contributions of all of the volunteers, local businesses, advertisers, civic organizations, churches, elected officials and public safety personnel that come together to make this event a success.  A schedule of events is listed below. We hope to see the entire community enjoying our annual festival.

Best regards,

Mayor David Knight
