Chapin Town Hall

Mayor's Message

Greetings,

Memorial Day is a day we set aside to honor the fallen soldiers that paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. This Memorial Day it was an honor and privilege to participate in the extremely moving ceremony and reception hosted by the American Legion at Town Hall.

During the event we were reminded by Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Jasso that Monday wasn’t just the day the pools opened but a much more important day to remember and pay tribute to those that given their life in service to our country. I was humbled to have met so many veterans and to have had the opportunity to thank them in person for their service.

As we returned from the long weekend, the staff kept me busy tending to Town business. Andy Metts and I had the opportunity to attend the Lexington County Planning Commission Meeting. We plan to continue meeting with county representatives to increase communication and build stronger relationships between the county and our town.

As a reminder, we are hosting the second Farmer’s Market of the season tomorrow. A special thanks to Nicholle Burroughs for organizing and hosting these and other events throughout the year. The events have provided a great opportunity for our residents and local businesses to enjoy our community of unity.

Additional information and details on this month’s market can be found below. I look forward to seeing our community residents and welcoming visitors to the area.

Best regards,

Farmers Market

Chapin Downtown Farmer's Market

The Chapin Downtown Farmer’s Market will be held Saturday, June 2, from 9:30 am-1:00 pm. The event offers a unique experience to interact with local farmers and artisans.

Based on vendor feedback and discussion with local merchants, we decided to alter the hours of operation for the June 2nd market. The adjusted hours allow for food truck participation and a better window of opportunity for our citizens to attend. The June market will feature more vendors and additional produce that prior markets.

Local music legend Jim Leblanc will be playing throughout the event and Vive Church will be providing a bounce house and face painting for children.

Vendors at the market include:
