Chapin Town Hall

Mayor's Message

One sentiment I emphasized in the last Town message was how proud I am of the work being done by our employees at Town Hall. During Tuesday’s Council Meeting it was announced that the Chapin Utilities Department was awarded the coveted Facility Excellence Award by the Department of Health and Environmental Control for the third year in a row. This award recognizes the facilities that strive for excellence in operations, protection of the environment and work to meet or exceed customer expectations.

In addition to receiving the Facility Excellence Award, earlier this year two of our Utility employees were recognized by the Water Environment Association of South Carolina (WEASC) Capital District. Russell Wright was named the WEASC Capital District Operator of the year and Susan Wright was named the WEASC Capital District Customer Service Representative of the year.

Congratulations to the entire Utilities Department. These accolades are very well deserved. We are fortunate to have such a talented team working so hard on behalf of our community.  To learn more about the Utilities Department, read our quarterly publication the Chapin Utilities News Splash, written by Town Engineer, Dan Lambert.

Best Regards,

Mayor David Knight
