Boards & Commissions

The Town of Chapin has several volunteer boards, commissions, and committees who support the Town elected officials and staff with programs and activities conducted in and around the Chapin community. If you are interested in serving with one of these groups, please complete the Boards and Committees Application (PDF) and submit it to the Chapin Town Hall by mail, in person, or by email.

Members of the Planning Commission, Architectural Review Board and Zoning Board of Appeals are appointed by the Town Council for staggered three-year terms.

The Chapin Business Alliance, Chapin Citizens Advisory Committee and Chapin Historical Society are voluntary committees that are open to citizens and business leaders for participation.
  1. Planning Commission

    The Planning Commission serves in an advisory capacity, and meets at 3:30 p.m. on fourth Tuesdays of the month.

  2. Architectural Review Board

    The Architectural Review Board makes sure plans and models for new and improved structures meet architectural standards set forth in zoning ordinance.

  3. Zoning Board of Appeals

    The Zoning Board of Appeals meets as needed to review variance requests.

  4. Chapin Business Alliance

    The Chapin Business Alliance works with business and community leaders to develop a process for managing future development in the Greater Chapin area.

  5. Chapin Citizen Advisory Committee

    The Chapin Citizen Advisory Committee is made up of local citizens working with the Town to address issues impacting quality of life in Chapin.

  6. Chapin Historical Society

    The Chapin Historical Society is charged with helping the Town preserve the history of Chapin.
